Meet the Team

Dr. Katarzyna Pilewicz, Ph.D, LCPC, CADC

Our Founder

Dr. Katarzyna Pilewicz, LCPC, CADC, PhD, is the founder of the Psychological Counseling Center, established in 2014 with a heartfelt mission: to create a space where people feel truly safe, seen, and understood — and to support them on the journey toward healing, strength, and a more meaningful life.

Psychology has always been more than a profession for her — it is a calling. She is deeply committed to helping children, families, and individuals heal from trauma, navigate life's challenges, and overcome substance use struggles, rooted in the belief that every person carries an inner strength waiting to be rediscovered. Fluent in Polish and English, Dr. Pilewicz also provides bilingual support to serve a broader community.

Guided by a humanistic, strengths-based approach, Dr. Pilewicz sees the whole person — honoring both their pain and their resilience. She completed her training at Adler University in Chicago and earned her PhD in Positive Psychology from Walden University. She is also passionate about advocacy and writing to reduce mental health stigma and spark open, honest conversations about emotional well-being.

Outside the office, she finds grounding in travel and nature — exploring the U.S. in a camper with her family and sharing a deep love for animals that keeps her connected to the present moment.

Greg is a firm believer that life's greatest moments often come from the unexpected — the turns we didn't see coming, the connections we never planned for, the growth that surprises us most.
